Saving the oceans and the animals that call it home one piece of trash at a time!
Hello my name is Isaac. I am 10 years old. I have lived in the Clearwater Beach area and near the Ocean all my life. I love the Ocean and all the animals that call it home. A few years ago my Dad took me to my first Earth Day cleanup near the beach. I was amazed at all the trash we picked up that day. I thought to myself why do we only do this one day a year. So me, my dad and my brother started going to other places in the community near the ocean and picking up trash. Then my dad got a membership to Freedom boat club. When we go out on the boat we always see trash in the water, lots of it. We started picking up trash each time and sometimes would have big garbage bags full of trash. Each year over 1 million animals die each year from eating trash and there is over 100 million tons of trash floating in the oceans. I hope to inspire people to do a little more to help keep our oceans clean. My dad and I do 2 things; when we are out in the boat we pick up the floating garbage we see and when we are playing on the coast we look for pieces of trash. If we all did this more I think it would make a big difference. Thank you for helping!
