Happy to announce our second Ocean Day

Join Keep Pinellas Beautiful, Sea Savers, and the City of Clearwater for a cleanup on April 29th at the Clearwater Memorial Causeway!

WHERE TO MEET: Clearwater Memorial Causeway (GPS: 27.968987, -82.811132). The small parking lot just over the bridge on the left.

WHEN: Cleanup begins at 10:00 AM, please be there at 9:45AM. Volunteers will help us clean up lots of trash and fishing line from this beautiful part of our coastline.

You can also invite us to be a collaborator and be featured on our page and yours at the same time.

Planning Your Ocean Day

WHAT TO WEAR: Volunteers should wear closed toe shoes, sun protection and weather appropriate clothing.

WHAT TO EXPECT: Cleanup supplies will be provided including gloves, trash bags, pickers, sunscreen, bug spray, and hand sanitizer. A water refill station will be available, please bring a reusable water bottle.

PARKING: Parking will be available in the lot onsite. Spaces are limited so carpooling is encouraged!

Being Careful

Be cautious where you walk and what you touch. Some of the marine animals can be hurt if they are handled or stepped on. If you are in the water take slow steps and look at where you are going. If you see an animal just observe it. Take time to enjoy the little creature and notice the habitat. Be sure to stay clear of the mangroves and protected areas. Do some research before you go on location just to be sure you can be there.

What is Sea Savers?

We love the oceans and all the life in it. Our goal is inspiring others to help take better care of the ocean and all the animals.

How can you help?

JUST 2 THINGS! To us every day is an ocean day. #1-If you have some spare time one or two days a month go to a beach area, park, coastline anywhere and pick up some trash. Chances are you will fill a bag or two in just a short walk. #2-If you have a boat take one day a month and go out into the bay or gulf and look for all the debris floating in the water. Small pieces and large. This will help save the lives of all the animals that think it is food.
